A principios de 1984, de regreso de gira por Australia, Pierce volvió a tocar la guitarra, con la nueva alineación de vuelta, Tanto Pierce como Powers se encargarían mayoritariamente de las guitarras en este tercer álbum de la banda, donde aparecía también Dave Alvin de The Blasters, tocando la guitarra principal en algunas de las pistas. The Last Vegas Story fue lanzado el 25 de Junio de 1985.
